They Think It’s All Over… Well That’s Because It Is!

I’m all done.

I’ve finished my degree.

ARGHHHH!!!!!!

Ok, I’m calm again now. Thank you for all your good luck wishes yesterday. The exam itself wasn’t too bad, although i did have to keep standing up (every half hour to be precise) to ease the pain that was coursing through my bum. It’s actually proved very useful as it meant i could stand up, stretch and actually stop to think about what i was going to write next before carrying on. Normally we’re not allowed to move except to go to the toilet. As my bro said… It’s a health and safety nightmare!

We did go out last night. Well, i started at half 12 once I was out of the exam room and didn’t really stop! We ended up dancing away in a club that was having a rockish night. Twas very cool, and we were on the little stage so everybody could see us grooving! The wonder of that place though is that it gets so hot and so loud that you can’t make it to the bar, so you sober up whilst dancing. No Bar?! I hear you cry, but to be honest I’d had enough by then!

So now I’m sat here, wondering what to do with myself. I have all these text books that I no longer need to read, and all these notes that I can just put away in a big box and ignore for a while. It’s a very odd feeling.

But friends of mine finish today and so I’d best go make myself presentable so that we can share some champagne on the Castle steps. It’s such a hard life I lead!

I’m freeeeeee!!!!!!

Bruises, Bums and Brews

I appear to have bruised my bum.

Twas a frisbee related incident, and quite spectacular to see apparently. Mid-leap my legs got taken out from under me and I landed flat on my back. The other guy (who had made contact foot to bum) ended up next to me on the floor and we lay there laughing hysterically for quite a while.

So yes, now i have a lovely bruise forming on my lower back and spreading down on to my right buttock. Sitting down is proving to be a painful experience and sleeping shall also be interesting!

In other news, I have finished one exam (woo!) and have on left on Tuesday morning. This one won’t go so well. The module was ridiculous as we ended up teaching ourselves and the lecturer did nothing. My notes don’t correspond to anything that’s been asked on previous exam papers and in all honesty… I’m screwed. Totally. I have no idea how I’m going to get through this.

I also had another mild scare today that I may not get paid this month. If this is the case then I’m doubly screwed as I was adding up running costs for this month and it’s going to be expensive… very expensive. Balls.

On the bright side, I have tea. Tea is good. Yas. I think I’m going to go sleep now, or at least attempt it, having a bruised bottom may prove a little too painful!

Sheer Stupidity

I found the most delightful article in the paper yesterday. Basically it was a selection of quiz show questions and the answers that were given. In the spirit of making students across the world feel better about their exams (and everybody else can just feel better about themselves!) I will now provide you with a small selection that had me and a few friends laughing very hard indeed*

Who had a world wide hit with ‘What a wonderful world’?
I don’t know
I’ll give you some clues: what do you call the part between your hand and your elbow?
Arm
Correct, - and if you’re not weak you’re…?
Strong
Correct - and what was Lord Mountbatten’s first name**
Louis
Well there we are then. So who had a worldwide hit with the song ‘What a wonderful world’?
Frank Sinatra?

What was Gandhi’s first name?
Goosey, goosey?

What’s 11 squared?
I don’t know
I’ll give you a clue. It’s two ones with a two in the middle
Is it five?

Which is the largest Spanish-speaking country in the world?
Barcelona
I was really after the name of a country
I’m sorry, I don’t know the names of any countries in Spain.

How many Kings of England have been called Henry?
Er, well, I know there was a Henry the Eighth… er… er… three?

In which country would you spend shekels?
Holland?
Try the next letter of the alphabet.
Iceland? Ireland?
(Helpfully) It’s a bad line, did you say Israel?
No.

and finally…

What religion was Guy Fawkes?
Jewish.
That’s close enough.

Oh dear. That’s all can say!

*it’s not my fault if you don’t find them funny!

**to be honest I’m amazed he got that right! I wouldn’t have known Lord Mountbatten’s first name!

That Time of the Year

I have my first final tomorrow. It’s quite the scary thought. I appear to have lost the ability to write and I’m really not so sure I know enough about bilingualism to get me through 3 hours in the afternoon.

*sigh* But i have to do this, there’s no getting out of it. Plus it means that when this one is out of the way I will only have one more on Tuesday morning.

Wish me luck people, 5 more days until I’m completely finished with University.

The Perfect Pick-me-up

This one has been doing the rounds up here in Durham so I thought I’d share it all with you. It’s perfect if you’re stressed, feeling down, or just want to feel good about yourself.

Go to your address bar and type in:

So I’d type in www.lemurgirl.youaremighty.com

Go on, give it a go. You know you want to!

p.s. - Whilst I think about it, does anybody have a spare g-mail invite going? Need to think about relocating in the very near future!

It’s alive!

ooo! My darling brother has moved me over to Wordpress… it’s all very exciting!

Today has so far been a relatively unproductive day. But my brain is le tired and so I shall save a decent length post for when I’m procrastinating tomorrow :)

I shall leave you with this question though. What animal would you make out of plasticine given the chance?
